Important End of Life Dates
So, What Does this Mean for You?
This means there will be no more security updates and technical support, and any system running SQL Server 2008, Windows 7 or Server 2008 will be at greater risk for security breaches. Potentially causing your company increased risk not to mention it will be out of compliance for a long list of industry security requirements (MA Data Security Law, HIPAA, etc…) Experts agree the software will become a greater threat from hackers and other malicious third parties once Microsoft cuts support. For Windows 7 and Server 2008 time and technology have simply moved on, it is necessary to upgrade to Windows 10 today! Don’t forget this also applies to your personal computers.
Shortly, Microsoft will be sending out courtesy reminder pop up messages to users of the affected machines about end of life support and recommending upgrades.
The Planning Begins Now.
We’ve reviewed all our client’s systems to identify those systems at risk and will be contacting you to start the planning process to move from these platforms. We are advising everyone in our community to have a SQL Server 2008/Window 7/Server 2008 end of life plan in place by the end of June.
